Miriam Bloom began her visual arts training under the renowned Arthur Lismer, at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She continued her studies at l'École des beaux-arts (Montreal), the Brighton College of Art and pastel workshops under Margaret Ferraro.
Miriam's career as a professional graphic designer and an artist spans four decades and four cities. In Montreal, she produced the award-winning weekend arts section of the Montreal Star. She worked as a designer in Ottawa, Toronto and Winnipeg, creating scores of books, publications and posters in many languages for commercial and government clients.
In December 2015, Miriam exhibited her pastel works in Ottawa. An exhibition of new pastel works was on display in Ottawa, January-February 2019.
In 2017 she designed and produced a children's book, An ABC of Ottawa. It was very well-received and a third printing (2020) is now sold out.
